(Detaching from the Body)

Sutra - 10 (Aviveko Mayasausuptam)

There is no awareness of the illusory state of deep sleep. It is similar to the state of enlightenment. The only difference is we are not aware of the state of deep sleep.

Sutra - 11 (Tritayabhokta Viresha)

There exist 3 states - The waking state, the dream state, and the state of deep sleep. In the state of liberation, you are aware of all the 3 states.

Sutra - 12 (Viismayo Yogabhumikah)

In the state of awareness, one loses the constant chaos we create in our minds and we are in a state of amazement.

Sutra - 13 (Iccha skater uma kumari)

The Power of Desire is the Goddess Consort Of Shiva. It shows the importance of desire in achieving our goal by elevating the power of desire to the level of a goddess.

Sutra - 14 (Dream Sariram)

The concept is that we all belong to one supreme energy that we mention here as Paramshiva.

Sutra - 15 (Hardaye Cittasamghattad drsyasvapadarsanam)

From focusing the mind on the heart, The world appears as a dream.

To explain, Consider you are in a dark room and suddenly you hold onto something like a rope, you feel as if you are holding a snake but in light, you know that it is a rope.

Similarly, the external world is somewhat like this. We might experience fear in our daily lives. But when we are liberated, We realise that the world is not "Real", and there is nothing to be afraid of.

Sutra - 16 (Buddha - tattva - Samdhanad va pasusaktih)/ Sutra - 17 (Vitarka Atmajnanam) / Sutra - 18 (Lokanandah Samadhisukham)

  • From joining with the pure state, One obtains divine energy.

  • Deliberation leads to the knowledge of the self

  • It is like the butterfly effect, All things are connected. We are all part of one whole. What happens in one part of the world could influence events in another part of the world.

Sutra - 19,20 & 21 (Saktisandhane Sarirotpattih/ Bhutasamdhana - Bhutaprthaktva - Visvasamghattah/ Suddhavidyodayacckresatva - Siddhih)

  • On uniting with energy, one gains the ability to leave the body

  • One has the power to join elements, or two separate elements, or to join everything

  • Through the appearance of pure knowledge, One attains mastery of the chakras.

Sutra - 22 ( Mahahradanusamdhananmantraviry Anubhava)

From union with the Great Lake, one gains the power of the mantra. The Great Lake is a reference to Lord Shiva.

Sutra - 23 (Cittam mantra)

What’s important in a mantra is not the meaning but the frequency at which the sound vibrates, just as Om Namah Shivaya I.e consists of seven syllables - Om, Na, Ma, She, Va, Ya. Each of these 7 syllables stimulates one of the seven important chakras. One such meditation practice is listening to the sound of your breath.

Sutra- 24,25 (Prayatnah Sadhakah / Vidyasarira- satta mantrarahasyam/ Garble cittavikaso Visistavidyasvapnah)

  • Persevering efforts leads to fulfilment. Life resolves itself in the process of life itself. Problems get resolved in due course.

  • What’s mentioned here is, The real world is like a dream world.

Our brain contains knowledge of the external world, which could be the knowledge that binds us to the external world.

Sutra - 26,27 & 28 (Vidyasamutthane svabhavike khesari sivavastha/ Gururupayah / Matrkacakrasambodhah)

Raising of Inherent knowledge in oneself refers to Kundalini, the dormant energy at "Muladhara" and as we pierce the kundalini up to "Sahashra", one reaches the state of consciousness in which one experiences oneness with "God" or "Shiva".

Do we need a Guru to achieve awareness or liberation?

One such explanation is, The greatest guru is within ourselves, and it is important to listen to oneself because that self will guide you to a proper guru when the time for your evolution has reached it's saturation point.

Having said that an external guru will speed up your process of enlightenment because they have already taken that path and know what not to do to reach the point.

Sutra - 29,30 & 31 (Sariram havih/ Janna annam & Vidyasamhare taduttha svapna darsanam)

The body is the sacrifice.

Knowledge is food to be consumed

Our identification with the body causes our bondage. Once we remove identification with name & form, then all that is left is awareness. We then awaken out of our dream state.
